Melbourne council approves consent agenda, rejects generator bid; reviews finances and sets Dec. 15 meeting

At its Nov. 10 meeting the Melbourne City Council approved the consent agenda by motion of Beth Opperman with Gaege Bracy seconding; the vote was recorded as unanimous.
A maintenance bid from Interstate Power for generator work was presented; Lucas Hauser moved and Gaege Bracy seconded a motion to not accept the bid, and the council voted unanimously to reject it. Public Works was directed to contact the current provider to inquire whether the Railroad Street generator can be included on the provider’s next maintenance visit.
Mayor Cynthia Mansager appointed Bailey Lozano to the Melbourne Public Library board. The council also agreed to move the December meeting from Dec. 8 to Dec. 15.
City Clerk Mary Pothast presented fund-level financials: total expenses $144,057.20 (General $19,470.29; Road Use $3,290.83; Employee Benefits $2,508.58; LOST Fire $1,243.80; Pool $65,000.00; Water $10,946.91; Sewer $34,231.44; Sanitary Sewer Lagoon $7,365.35) and total revenues $264,704.14 (General $179,213.39; Road Use $8,780.55; Employee Benefits $11,809.16; LOST Fire $1,174.01; LOST 1st Resp $1,472.69; Pool $1,177.75; LOST Rec $1,348.04; Water $38,081.57; Sewer $21,646.98). The record notes these figures were "published prior to approval."
The meeting adjourned at 8:24 p.m. after a unanimous motion to adjourn by Lucas Hauser and second by Beth Opperman.
