Village condo lease: The board approved a six-month seasonal lease (Unit C17) to house staff — principally to accommodate the interim town manager — for $10,000, payable in two $5,000 installments, and with a $2,000 security deposit. A motion to execute the lease was seconded and approved by voice vote.
Water restrictions: With state fire bans lifted and seasonal conditions changing, the board voted to lift the town’s outdoor water restriction, returning the town to its usual permitting approach while noting the ground remained dry.
Tax rate: Town staff presented a preliminary tax-rate calculation set at $9.96 for 2025. A town staff member told the board, “The preliminary tax rate right now is set at $9.96,” and staff explained that a $1,000,000 home would see about a $920 increase at that rate (examples provided in the staff presentation). The board voted to set the preliminary rate and authorized staff to submit it to the Department of Revenue Administration for billing.
Other actions and next steps: The board authorized a town joint project (handrails at the Golden Eagle walkway) to proceed on Veterans Day if needed and discussed ambulance disposition options and a veterans/memorial committee formation. The board concluded the public portion of the meeting and moved into nonpublic session for personnel and legal matters.
