At the May 19 meeting the Bloomingdale Village Council reviewed two operational infrastructure topics: building repairs and sewer system maintenance.
On unfinished business, members discussed challenges obtaining contractors to inspect buildings and provide repair quotes amid regional contractor shortages tied to storm‑related insurance work. Councilors noted concerns about roof warranty coverage, potential mold remediation, window replacement needs and the importance of engineering inspections before proceeding with repairs.
In sanitary infrastructure updates, the Village President reported scheduled sewer maintenance including cleaning of lift stations, installation of a new south lift station pump and effluent panel module, planned electrical work, and concerns about grinder knife replacement. Councilors also discussed repairs to a ferric tank roof and coordination for road repairs near a culvert south of town. The Village also assisted the school with locating sewer and storm lines for a proposed school well project.
