Reinbeck officials finalized vendor fees and continued operational planning for the RAGBRAI bicycle event at the city council's June 1 meeting.
Councilmembers Wambold and Bueghly updated the council on RAGBRAI preparations, saying the city has 13 meal vendors plus snack and local vendors signed and still needs volunteers. The council set a Town Hall on June 15 at 6:30 p.m. at the Memorial Building to coordinate volunteers and logistics.
Councilmember Johnson moved, and Trepp seconded, to set vendor fees at $350 for food trucks, $45 for local vendors and $100 for out-of-town vendors; the motion passed 5-0. Councilmembers noted operational details including additional rock needed in the alley between Center and Park because of Center Street construction, and low-hanging branches on Blackhawk and Park streets where RAGBRAI campers will be staged.
Councilmembers said they will place RAGBRAI street-closing items on next month's agenda for final confirmation of closures and traffic control plans.
"Volunteers are still needed," the minutes record; the Town Hall is intended to direct volunteers and finalize vendor logistics.
