Council approves 10½-foot variance for People’s Savings Bank ATM canopy

Bower told the council the canopy’s overhang on the east side exceeded the allowable setback and asked for a 10½-foot variance, which would allow the canopy to be as close as 9½ feet from the east property line; site columns were within setback requirements. Councilmember Wambold moved to approve the variance; Pease seconded and the motion carried with five ayes.
The minutes record no appeal request or conditions beyond noting the column locations conform to setback rules. The council’s action grants the property owner the specified encroachment allowance under local zoning procedures.
