Councilmember Ken Schultz moved, seconded by Rob Anderson, to approve the rezone request as presented. The motion carried by unanimous vote. During discussion, Councilmember Stephen Smith asked what the future net construction valuation would be; Eiche said it was not final but estimated at "approximately $2.3 million." Smith said he viewed the projected valuation as positive for the city, and Anderson concurred.
The council then approved the certified survey map to split the existing property into two lots, on a motion from Smith seconded by Tom Rasmussen; that motion also passed unanimously. Councilmember Rob Anderson moved, seconded by Ken Schultz, to amend the comprehensive plan’s future land use map to reflect the requested zoning change for tax parcel 32923; the council again approved the amendment unanimously.
The council adjourned at 5:40 p.m. on a motion from Smith, seconded by Steve Byrd.
