Shiocton trustees approve vending machine at shooting range and several licenses; one trustee objects to vending approval

Shiocton's Village Board voted on a series of routine items at its April 13 meeting, including approval to allow a volunteer to place a vending machine at the municipal shooting range and several license actions.
Chief Knapp reported that volunteer Zach DeBont requested permission to place vending machines at the range; both the police chief and DPW Supervisor Dan Nabbefeld recommended approval with the volunteer assuming responsibility for upkeep. Trustees voted 5-1 to permit the vending machine (motion by Trustee Tyler, seconded by Trustee Brownson); Trustee Bunnell recorded the sole dissenting vote.
The board also approved operator licenses for Jacquiline Sell and Lori Malouf (motion Dawes/Bunnell) and approved a tobacco license for Dollar General (motion Gomm/Tyler). Trustees later moved and passed approval of bills and vouchers as presented (motion Brownson/Tyler).
Clerk Laurie Sweeney noted public concern about a 55 mph speed limit on Highway 54 in front of Dollar General and said the board recommended contacting the state Department of Transportation to learn the formal request process; that issue was not decided at the meeting.
Minutes show the board handled the items as routine business and did not refer any of them for further study at that meeting.
