Shell Lake council approves $374,187 in sewer bonds for Bosch Lift Station, OKs loan modification

Shell Lake Mayor Rowie Hansberger presided as the City Council on Nov. 12 unanimously approved a resolution authorizing issuance of up to $374,187 in sewerage system revenue bonds for the Bosch Lift Station project and approved a loan modification to the city’s line-of-credit with Shell Lake State Bank.

The bond resolution was introduced by Mayor Rowie Hansberger and carried on a motion by Council member Ken Schultz, seconded by Council member Stephen Smith. The council recorded a roll call vote in which council members Rob Anderson, Deb Nebel, Dan Harrington, Ken Schultz, Steve Byrd, Mike Andrews, Stephen Smith and Terry Severson voted yes and the resolution passed unanimously. The motion authorizes the issuance and sale of Sewerage System Revenue Bonds, Series 2024, in an amount not to exceed $374,187 to support the Bosch Lift Station project.

The council then considered a loan modification agreement for the City of Shell Lake’s line-of-credit with Shell Lake State Bank. Council member Mike Andrews moved to approve the loan modification and Deb Nebel seconded. The council approved the agreement on a unanimous roll call vote (Severson, Smith, Andrews, Byrd, Schultz, Harrington, Nebel, Anderson voted yes).

Also during the meeting Mayor Hansberger announced her appointment of David Nielsen, identified in the minutes as a hangar owner, to the Airport Management Committee; Council member Ken Schultz moved and Mike Andrews seconded approval of the appointment, and the council approved it unanimously.

Mayor Hansberger told the council the Shell Lake Lions Club had donated $3,000 to purchase twelve new tables for the Community Center and she thanked Rob Anderson and Deb Nebel for helping secure the donation. She also mentioned a possible "Winter Fest," said the governing body will host a Christmas party and hold a potluck for full-time city employees on Dec. 18, and reported she has floated a "Mayor for the Day" idea to the Shell Lake School District Administrator and is awaiting the district’s response. She reminded alderpersons who will be on the April ballot to see City Administrator Andrew Eiche about paperwork.

Council member Stephen Smith presented the Financial Administration minutes, moved to approve vouchers numbered 1323–1444 (seconded by Terry Severson), and presented a budget status report; the vouchers motion passed unanimously. With those items completed, Council member Ken Schultz moved to adjourn, seconded by Mike Andrews; the meeting adjourned at 7:30 p.m.
