Shawano School Board approves $2.53 million in vouchers, multiple hires and CESA 8 fiscal contract

The Shawano School District Board of Education approved a modified consent agenda at its July 28 regular meeting that included vouchers totaling $2,528,777, multiple personnel actions and a fiscal services contract with CESA 8.

Board President Tim Renard called the meeting to order at 5:00 p.m. and the board voted to approve the agenda. During the consent portion of the meeting the board approved minutes from the June 19, 2025 meeting and accepted personnel changes: resignations for Larence Gillick and Erin Cornelius and appointments or hires listed by the administration. The packet also documented donations of $1,500 from Luigi’s and $250 from Twig’s Beverage in support of FBLA national qualifiers.

John Arens moved to approve the modified consent agenda, Bobbi Lemerond seconded, and the roll call recorded the trustees present voting in the affirmative.

Business Manager Bryan Kadlec reviewed the budget summary during the district reports; the administration reported auditors were onsite and said the 2025–26 budget is nearing completion. The board approved a contract with Cooperative Educational Service Agency (CESA) 8 for fiscal support in grant management, purchasing and p‑card processes. Karen Houston moved to approve the CESA 8 agreement; Mike Musolff seconded and the motion carried on a roll-call vote.

The board also accepted the annual LEADS Primary Charter School report and approved the 2025–2026 student academic standards as presented earlier in the meeting.

The district said student schedules will be released Aug. 14, 2025, and identified follow‑up items for future agendas including the health insurance consortium agreement and gym use.

The board adjourned to closed session later in the meeting for a superintendent evaluation and then adjourned while in closed session.
