Sherwood board dissolves High Cliff Sanitary District; utility to assume customers

The Village of Sherwood on March 9, 1982 adopted a resolution to dissolve the High Cliff Sanitary District and have the Sherwood Water and Sewer Utility assume responsibility for water and sewer services to customers in the former district.
President Clarence Zahringer presented the resolution directing dissolution and transfer of service responsibility; the motion to adopt was moved, seconded and carried by a recorded vote of 6–0. The resolution instructs the village utility to assume service and sets the administrative steps for the transfer. The board also noted the utility had received $13,000 from the now-defunct sanitary district to help cover transition costs.
Board and staff discussed follow-up items including billing and sewer rate alignment. Members noted the Public Service Commission (PSC) procedures might be required for certain rate changes and that paperwork would be submitted to PSC where necessary. The board instructed the utility commission and village attorney to continue work on required legal and administrative steps.
