The Village of Slinger Parks, Recreation & Forestry Board on May 5 heard that a new water filling station at Breuer Park has been installed and is operational after local donations covered the full cost.
Parks & Forestry Supervisor Josh Feller said the Friends of the Slinger Park and Girl Scout Troop 10143 each donated $3,000 toward the project, and their combined contributions covered the purchase and installation. The board expressed gratitude and Director Tony Dobson said thank-you letters would be sent.
Feller also reported that all new street tree plantings for 2025 are complete and that Wachtel has begun the Village tree inventory. Recreation Supervisor Elizabeth Van Maanen told the board that summer and senior programs have begun successfully, the 2025 little league season is underway and most sports camps and clinics will start in June; she requested volunteers for the Breuer Family Fun Day.
Board members complimented the new plantings at Breuer Park and acknowledged local groups for financial and volunteer support. The board plans further discussion of related programming and park activities at future meetings.
