Slinger schedules spring tree plantings, Arbor Day event at Breuer Park

Supervisor Josh Feller told the Parks, Recreation & Forestry Board that crews are completing restoration work after stump grinding and will plant approximately 20 new trees at Breuer Park this spring, many along the entrance road. He said the plantings are expected to occur within the next week or two.
Feller noted Arbor Day is April 21 and that the department will host a tree-planting at Breuer Park with Girl Scout troop 13045 at 5:30 p.m. He framed the work as restoration and site improvement following recent stump-grinding operations.
The board did not take formal action on the forestry items at this meeting but acknowledged the schedule and community planting partnership. Resident Tim Bankes offered ecologist expertise to meet with staff about low-maintenance plantings, and Director Tony Dobson agreed to schedule a meeting.
