Slinger RDA approves $7,500 façade grant for Slinger Historical Museum; compliance notice issued for 100 Storck St.

The Slinger Redevelopment Authority on June 4 approved a $7,500 façade grant to Schleisingerville to Slinger Historical Museum (SSHM) toward a project the minutes list with an estimated total budget of $850,000.
Village Administrator Margaret Wilber presented the façade program application and described the proposed work as exterior and safety improvements that would attempt to restore some historic elements of the museum building. Ms. Janet Holk was present to answer questions on the museum’s plans. RDA member Sherry Schaefer moved to approve the grant and Dean Otte seconded; the motion passed.
Wilber also updated the board on code-enforcement follow-up for other properties. Staff sent a letter to the owner of 100 Storck Street in May giving the owner until June 11, 2025 to obtain a raze permit; Wilber said staff had not heard back as of the June 4 meeting and that the matter is scheduled for the Village Board agenda on June 16, 2025. Separately, Wilber said developers working on 116 Kettle Moraine Drive South found more extensive roof problems than first identified and are consulting another structural engineer.
The RDA approved the façade grant by motion and adjourned the meeting at 8:29 a.m. The minutes do not record vote tallies for the grant motion.
