The Slinger Redevelopment Authority on June 4 reviewed plans for redeveloping 119 Kettle Moraine Drive South and heard that the Village Board has approved a Letter of Intent and draft terms for potential Tax Increment District (TID) #6 assistance for the project.
Village Administrator Margaret Wilber told members that the Village Board had advanced the draft TID assistance terms and that the project team is moving forward on design work. Scott Ritger, the project presenter, provided members with a rendering of the proposed building and outlined plans that would combine commercial space and an ADA-compliant apartment on the first floor with townhouse-style rental units behind the building. Ritger said that, should approvals proceed on schedule, demolition of additional buildings on the site could occur in August 2025.
RDA members reacted positively to the ADA-unit proposal and discussed housing form; the minutes record general member support for including an accessible first-floor apartment. Wilber said the RDA and Village Board coordination is ongoing but did not record a formal RDA vote or funding commitment on the redevelopment at this meeting.
The update also included project risk notes: Wilber said other nearby properties under redevelopment have revealed construction or structural issues that have delayed progress, and staff are tracking permits and engineering consultations for those parcels. The RDA did not take formal action on the 119 Kettle Moraine Drive South redevelopment at the June 4 meeting.
Next steps: project proponents will continue design and permitting work; any formal RDA or Village Board actions on TID assistance or site demolition would be scheduled as separate agenda items.
