He said that even with the additional work, the project is expected to finish well under the initially budgeted $150,000; Dobson estimated total final project costs at around $64,000.
Dobson said crews planned to pave the parking lot the following day. Board members discussed but did not approve a proposed rustic trail from the parking lot to the restroom area, choosing instead to defer that decision until the board’s August meeting at Fireman’s Park.
The board recorded no formal motion tied to the extra cost at the meeting; Dobson presented the contractor’s corrective plan and a short-term schedule. The next procedural step is for staff to proceed with the contractor’s rework and report back at the August site meeting if further decisions are needed.
