Town attorney Tom Yeager to leave; council to meet candidates administratively Aug. 25

Administrator Cooper said two candidates have responded to the town's outreach: Geniveve (quoted at $425 per hour, willing to reduce to $325 per hour and charging $0.70 per mile) and Charles Scott (quoted $450 per hour, willing to reduce to $325 per hour and not charging mileage because he lives in Earleville). Cooper said Scott previously served the town and is familiar with local work.
Council members agreed that deliberation about which candidate to hire is personnel-related and should take place in a closed administrative session; they scheduled meetings with the candidates for Monday, Aug. 25. The council indicated it could hire at the next monthly public meeting after administrative review.
