The Village of Slinger Parks, Recreation & Forestry Board reviewed updated plans March 3 for Phase 2 of Breuer Park that would add walking trails, a pollinator garden, a dog park, a storage building with restrooms and additional multi-use sport courts.
Director Tony Dobson presented an updated map and described the proposed features, saying staff are considering site layouts and amenities. Board members discussed whether to include volleyball courts; Dobson said staff will evaluate installing one or two courts using grass as a playing surface instead of sand and bring findings back to the board.
The discussion focused on layout and programming for the park rather than funding details. Dobson indicated the design work is continuing and additional specifics will be shared in future meetings as planning progresses.
The board did not take a formal vote on the Phase 2 plan at the March 3 meeting. The next steps are design refinement and staff evaluation of the volleyball surface option.
