The Kennett City Council approved a one-year contract with Republic Services to provide commercial trash service for multiple city buildings.
City Administrator Steve Rasmussen said the city solicited bids from both licensed providers but received only Republic’s proposal. Rasmussen reported the contract price would be $645 per month with a one-time $25 delivery fee per container; he said the term would be one year. On a motion by Council Member Bob Young and a second by Council Member Harry Gaddis, the council approved the contract.
The council did not record alternative bid amounts during the meeting. The contract covers municipal buildings identified by staff; specific pick-up schedules and container counts will be determined through the contract and staff implementation.
