Council approves $10,383 gym-floor contract and authorizes mid‑year budget adjustments

Council member Melinda Mendoza moved to approve the Master Care Flooring bid; the motion was seconded and approved by voice vote.
Clerk Treasurer Dan Baden summarized mid‑year budget adjustments, noting many of the changes respond to grant revenue timing and to higher-than-expected insurance and maintenance costs. Highlights included a proposed $5,000 allocation for the electric vehicle battery replacement used by public works and a $13,000 increase in community-center maintenance that covers the gym-floor contract and HVAC repairs. Baden said he proposed reducing an annexation line item by $30,000 because the annexation is not expected to complete before the fiscal year end and reallocating those funds toward shortfalls.
Council moved to approve the recommended budget adjustments (motion by Council member Melinda Mendoza) and approved them by voice vote. No roll-call tallies were recorded on either voice vote in the meeting minutes; council approved both motions during the meeting.
The budget adjustments will be reflected in the FY2026 accounts and will be used to prepare FY2027 budget discussions.
