Town Board approves multiple engineering agreements and change orders for recreation center and other projects

The Town Board approved a series of engineering agreements, construction change orders and related contract actions at the May 27 workshop.

Agreements: The board approved agreements with MHE Engineering, D.P.C. for design, bidding and construction-phase services for courthouse improvements at 311 Route 32 and for the Hill & Hobb Street watermain replacement.

Recreation Center change orders: Town engineer Patrick J. Hines presented and the board approved multiple change orders for the Newburgh Recreation Center: Change Order #33 (Entrance Paving) for $15,703; #34 (Interior Columns Plywood) for $13,378; #35 (Tapered Column Pads) for $15,510; #36 (MEP Painting) credit of $16,275; #37 (Thermostat Blank Plates) credit of $10,901.02; #38 (Town Invoice Credits) credit of $26,623.63; and #39 (Unused Contract Allowances) credit of $31,358.00. Each change order was approved by roll-call vote.

Chadwick Lake Filter Plant: The board approved an agreement with MHE Engineering for Chadwick Water Filter Plant roof replacement design/bidding/construction services and awarded asbestos and lead paint testing for the existing roof to AIR Environmental Consulting, LLC for $1,595, the lowest of three proposals.

Other awards and contracts: The board approved awarding Meadow Hill Tank demolition electrical work to M.C. Superior Electrical Systems, Inc. for $16,000 and accepted other contract recommendations for town infrastructure work as presented.
