The district treasurer presented December financial highlights and the board approved the financial statements for December 2024.
The treasurer reported a December loss of about $450,000 for the general and emergency funds and a year‑to‑date deficit of roughly $577,000, noting that bond payments made in November contributed to the timing of those results. He cited several expense items including a $25,000 fuel‑management system update and a $23,000 payment to a fence company for track repairs; the treasurer said the district's foundation is expected to reimburse the fence expense.
"December for general and emergency fund, we had a loss of about 450,000," the treasurer said, and he added that some timing differences will appear in January financials.
The board also accepted a $500 donation from Sergeant Chevrolet to support the Waterloo theater program and approved the minutes from the Dec. 12 meeting.
