Board approves university partnerships, outsources SLP services and accepts resignation

By roll call the board authorized agreements with Youngstown State (for student teachers), Kent State (College Credit Plus) and LearnWell (services). The superintendent noted the district has been unable to recruit a speech‑language pathologist and the board approved an outsourced SLP contract so services can be provided to students without delay.
The board also approved substitute contracts for three individuals for the remainder of the school year and accepted the resignation of Jasmine Wilhelm, effective Jan. 7; members thanked her for her service.
"We've been looking for an SLP almost all year unsuccessfully, so we need to outsource this so that we can meet the needs of our kids," the superintendent said.
All motions passed on roll call as recorded in the transcript.
