The Village of Spring Green Board of Trustees on July 23 voted to extend abatement deadlines for the property at 433 W. Madison Street, moving several line-item due dates to Sept. 3 or 4.
David Saperstein, Village Board member, moved to extend the deadline on line-item n. to Sept. 3 or 4 and to align the dates for line-items j., h. and i.; Deb Miller seconded both motions and each passed by voice vote. The board set a follow-up report for the Aug. 27 board meeting.
According to the board’s discussion, staff provided an update from Frank Glynn about needed repairs including the exterior brick wall and windows and noted the Building Inspector’s available dates; Glynn will be out for part of August, which factored into setting the new timeline. Trustees emphasized the need for a clear timeline for repair or replacement work before the next update.
The board did not adopt any ordinance changes or other formal penalties during the meeting; the extensions apply to existing line items in the abatement process. The next scheduled update is the Aug. 27 Village Board meeting.
