Robbins board approves community garden resolution, accepts $18,386.76 warrant list

The Village of Robbins Board of Trustees unanimously approved Resolution No. 8-10-21 on Aug. 10 to support the Robbins Community Garden.
Trustee David R. Dyson moved to approve the resolution; Trustee George Brewton seconded. The roll-call vote recorded Ayes from Trustees Dyson, Maxey, Brewton, Robinson, Jackson and Collier and the motion carried.
Mayor Darren E. Bryant thanked Kyiesha Hill for her work on the community garden and encouraged residents to visit and volunteer; the minutes include a contact phone number for those interested in helping with yard work.
On the same agenda the board accepted the warrant list totaling $18,386.76. Trustee George Brewton moved to accept the warrant list; Trustee David R. Dyson seconded the motion, which passed on a roll-call vote with all trustees recorded as voting aye.
During standing-committee reports trustees also discussed pursuing Azavar (represented by Tom Fagan) for a future finance agenda item and reviewing Municode to update and codify village ordinances and improve grant eligibility. Trustee Dyson summarized a youth-initiative discussion and noted ongoing ordinance work.
The board recessed to a closed session later in the meeting for personnel matters and adjourned following that session.
