The Town of Friendsville Mayor and Town Council approved the purchase of pickleball posts and nets to convert one tennis court into two pickleball courts during a special meeting on July 23, 2024.
A1 Asphalt Service, led by Todd Diehl, began resurfacing the basketball and tennis courts the same day. Clerk-Treasurer Wanda M. Guard told the council staff research compared two procurement options from Dinkshot Pickleball Company: permanent equipment (two 10-S Pickleball Posts, 2 7/8", at $225.00 each; two 10-S Pickleball 30" nets at $220.00 each; shipping $107.01) totaling $777.01, and a portable net with wheels at $914.00 plus $155.12 shipping totaling $1,069.12.
Council member Sheryl MacLane moved and Council member James Hook seconded a motion “Approval to purchase two 10-S Pickleball Posts (2 7/8") at $225.00 each and two 10-S Pickleball 30" nets at $220.00 each, plus a shipping fee of $107.01, totals $777.01.” The motion passed 6-0 (6 in favor, 0 opposed, 0 abstention).
