Plan commission discusses easing SR-1 overlay restrictions in Forest View amid drainage concerns

Greg Prem reviewed the current restrictions and said commissioners were considering targeted reductions for certain parcels. Resident Cole Rasmussen described prior work in the area: "I think we can all acknowledge that there have been multiple drainage projects that have been installed to alleviate the situation," and thanked the commission for being willing to modify restrictions.
Commissioners discussed verifying whether monitoring wells are still in place to establish groundwater levels, and they reviewed potential access points for emergency response vehicles to serve Level 1 parcels. Prem said wording needed to be added to acknowledge the Big Hollow Ditch and to reference the Town of Spring Green’s ordinance.
No formal amendment was adopted at the meeting. Prem said he would draft proposed SR-1 changes and place them on the October meeting agenda for further review.
