Mayor Darren E. Bryant said the village used an extended vetting process to select the chief and thanked members of the police commission "Mr. Foster, Mr. Bryant, and Mr. Jamison" for starting the search. Trustees did not detail the selection criteria or specific policing plans during the meeting.
The meeting also included a brief discussion of Appropriation Ordinance No. 4-27-21, which trustees said requires amendments and reappropriation; the transcript does not include dollar amounts or amendment language. During public comment, a resident offered to provide part-time police officers at pay rates he described as "$40-$70," and another speaker requested that village ordinances be kept up to date online.
