Plan commission approves proceeding with 'Amusement Center' definition but delays publication

The Village of Spring Green Plan Commission on Sept. 17 voted to proceed with a proposed zoning amendment that would add a definition for “Amusement Center,” but the commission agreed to delay publishing the change until it can be scheduled alongside another hearing.
Wendy Crary read an email from resident Jenifer Schauer explaining that converting a laundromat to an arcade would require renovations that are too costly for the owner to undertake. Commission Chair Greg Prem said there was no urgent need to move the definition to publication immediately and recommended waiting until another public hearing is scheduled.
Commissioner Ed Lilla moved to proceed with the proposed amendment and Commissioner David Saperstein seconded. The motion passed with all members in attendance voting in favor.
The amendment will be prepared for future review; the commission did not set a publication date and indicated the definition will be published only when it can be heard alongside another item, per the motion.
