Mayor Darren E. Bryant reported at the Sept. 28 special meeting that he has reorganized administration personnel and legislative standing committees and is moving forward on capital and community projects.
"I have reorganized our administration personnel as we continue the pursuit of excellence," Mayor Darren E. Bryant said, adding that his administration has secured $1,000,000 for Village Hall and is beginning pricing and planning work for a Robbins Resource Center with a "visionary presentation" expected soon. He said financial-empowerment courses will be offered on the first and third Saturdays of each month.
The mayor provided a numeric projection for near-term revenues, saying his administration is "on track to bring in $5,369,632.31" in five months. He also listed partnerships and stakeholders the administration plans to involve, including the library, school district and park district, and said the Robbins United comprehensive planning process would begin on Oct. 23.
The mayor's report also noted ongoing public-safety work (two finalists for police chief interviewed), and an agenda item to consider safety cameras later in the meeting. The report combined operational updates, fundraising totals and program planning but did not include a detailed breakdown of the sources for the projected $5.37 million figure; the transcript gives the total but not line-item sources.
The mayor did not move any formal motions in the report; trustees later dealt with camera procurement and other agenda items. The meeting packet and follow-up materials were referenced for details on program timing and grant sources.
