Cabot School Board approves amended employee disclosures, international exchange guidance and personnel slate

During the April 21, 2026 meeting, the Cabot School Board approved an amendment to employee disclosures for Dawn Peeples and Brooke Carter (Peeples Brothers Supply), increasing the previously approved amount from $2,000 to $5,000. Board member Joe Trusty moved the disclosure amendment; Board member Sarah Owen seconded the motion and the board voted 6‑0 to approve.
The board also voted to approve recommended changes to the district’s International Student Exchange Guidelines to explicitly include F‑1 and J‑1 visa classifications. The motion to approve the exchange guidance was made by Board member Sally Beebe and seconded by Board member Pam Clem; the vote was unanimous, 6‑0.
In a set of personnel actions, the board approved retirements, resignations, transfers/reassignments, and numerous new hires across certified and classified staff. The minutes and meeting packet list specific names and effective dates for retirements and resignations (for example: several certified retirements effective June 30, 2026, and multiple resignations with effective dates in May 2026). All recommended hires are contingent on completion of licensure requirements, a criminal-background check and child-maltreatment registry clearance, per the personnel recommendations packet.
Motion to approve the personnel slate was made by Board member Sarah Owen and seconded by Board member Sally Beebe; the motion passed 6‑0. The board adjourned at 8:40 p.m.
