Cabot School Board approves CACFP snack program and personnel, adopts minutes and financials

The Cabot School Board of Education on May 19 unanimously approved a resolution to participate in the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) for the 2026–2027 school year, adopted minutes and April financial reports, and approved recommended personnel changes following an executive session.
Sally Beebe moved to approve the CACFP resolution; Joe Trusty seconded and the motion passed unanimously. Superintendent Michael Byrd presented the resolution, saying the CACFP provides reimbursement for snacks served in the district’s pre-K programs. The board’s approval means pre-K snack costs will be eligible for the program’s reimbursement in the coming school year.
Earlier in the meeting Sarah Owen moved, and Kevin Tipton seconded, to approve the regular April 21 and special called May 13 meeting minutes and the April financial report; that motion also passed unanimously. In executive session the board considered personnel recommendations and then moved to approve those personnel actions; Sarah Owen moved, Sally Beebe seconded, and the motion was recorded as unanimously approved.
The meeting record included personnel lists provided to the board covering certified resignations and hires, classified retirements, resignations, transfers and new hires; specific hires and resignations were listed in the personnel packet. The superintendent also recognized staff work supporting three graduation ceremonies held over the weekend.
The board adjourned at 7:21 p.m. after the personnel vote. No public comments were offered during the meeting.
