Spring Valley board approves hiring, accepts resignations and a retirement

The School Board announced several personnel actions after reconvening from a closed session during its Feb. 26, 2026 meeting.
At 8:15 p.m. the Board adjourned to closed session under Wis. Stat. 19.85(1)(c) to discuss a personnel matter; the motion to enter closed session was made by Monica Shafer and seconded by Emily Collins and carried by roll call. The Board reconvened to open session at 8:25 p.m. on a motion by Stacy Schultz, seconded by Monica Shafer, which also carried by roll call.
After returning to open session, President Monica Vorlicek announced the Board approved hiring Katy McCullough as the middle/high school dishwasher. The Board also accepted resignations from Katharine Pierzyna (Cardinal Kids Club lead teacher) and Nichole Walton (paraprofessional) and approved the retirement of Kathryn Manor, a kindergarten teacher, effective at the end of the 2025–26 school year. These actions were recorded in the minutes as approved by motion.
The meeting adjourned at 8:27 p.m. following the personnel items and certification of the minutes.
