At the Feb. 26, 2026, meeting the Finance Committee, represented by Chair Stacy Schultz, recommended staffing changes intended to address enrollment and program needs for 2026–27: adding one full-time equivalent (1.0 FTE) teacher for third grade and converting an existing 0.5 FTE 4K teacher position to a 1.0 FTE. The committee also recommended the district offer full-day 4K beginning in 2026–27.
Schultz presented the recommendation to the full board and indicated the Board will continue the staffing discussion at its March regular meeting. The recommendation was presented as a committee action to guide budget and staffing planning; the minutes do not show a formal board vote to adopt the recommendation at this meeting.
Board members were informed of the staffing proposals alongside enrollment projections presented by Superintendent John Groh and Elementary Principal Nicole Lamb; the minutes note further discussion and indication that final staffing decisions will follow.
