At its Nov. 20 meeting, the Town of Glen Echo reviewed current ARPA-funded town operations and agreed to prioritize additional road repairs over immediate town hall renovations.
Town operations reported ARPA allocations of approximately $48,000 for elevator replacement and $73,000 for ongoing road work, leaving roughly $75,000 remaining to spend before the Dec. 31, 2024 ARPA deadline. Council Member Matt Stiglitz recommended directing the leftover funds to spring 2025 road projects on Wellesley Circle, Bryn Mawr and Harvard Avenue; Council Members Julia Wilson, Dawn Tanner and Dan Spealman agreed.
Council agreed to revisit town hall renovations later using town funds rather than current ARPA dollars. The financial report accompanying the meeting was not discussed in detail because council members had not yet reviewed it; staff noted Eva from LSWG will present further information at the December meeting so councilors can ask questions before any allocations are finalized.
