Stanhope council accepts resignation, sets August application deadline and special meeting

The Stanhope City Council on Aug. 13 accepted the resignation of Council Member Shauna Zanker and set a process to fill the vacancy.
Doug Sogard moved to accept the resignation and to set Aug. 23 at 4:00 p.m. as the deadline for applications with a special meeting scheduled for Aug. 27 at 4:00 p.m. at the Stanhope Community Center to appoint a replacement. Jill Haman seconded the motion; the council voted unanimously in favor.
The council directed the city clerk to publicize the vacancy and deadline. Applicants will be considered at the special meeting, when the council will act on filling the open seat.
