Council approves WRF and pump-station change orders totaling $67,468.70, funded by grants and fees

The Brooksville City Council on July 6 approved two change orders related to wastewater infrastructure.
Public-works staff presented Change Order No. 1 to the WRF expansion engineering contract to add electrical engineering, a new generator design, controls and structural work. Staff estimated the cost of the change order at $35,345 and said the amount is fully covered by a water-quality grant.
Council also approved a change order for Lift Station 50 (Cortez Veil Boulevard pump station replacement) to add gravity lining of a 24-inch feed line, remove a valve vault and a manhole, and install an above-ground manifold and piping. The change-order increase is $32,123.70 and will be funded through grant and connection-fee revenues.
Both change orders were approved by voice vote, 5–0. Staff said the additional design and construction items are necessary for long-term reliability and to meet state FDEP requirements for the expanded plant.
