"I'll make a motion... Under question 6, do we add the choice of... agricultural and natural resources type of business and so on?" S1 said when proposing the change, and members confirmed they wanted the new choice placed in question 7 (the business-type ranking).
Committee members discussed how the ranked-choice item will appear and how SurveyMonkey displays ranked results. S3 demonstrated a test preview and said the platform reports counts and order as bar charts and percentages. "It puts percentages on the exact... so this many people chose this as number 1," S1 explained during the demonstration.
The motion to add the agriculture option was seconded and approved by voice consensus; no roll-call tally was recorded. The committee also cleared typographical and label fixes on other items so respondents can look up referenced programs.
The group agreed the survey and its cover letter will be distributed the next day by Shannon (referenced) via the town email list and that the survey link will be posted on the town website with a direct SurveyMonkey guest link. The committee planned additional outreach steps, including a mailer and posted flyers, so the survey reaches residents not active online.
The next steps are to publish the approved materials and begin distribution. The committee set a target window for early results and follow-up discussion at its next scheduled meeting.
