Merrimac committee schedules Passport Thru Merrimac scavenger event for Oct. 17

The Merrimac 150th Celebration Committee confirmed on May 27 that "Passport Thru Merrimac" will take place Oct. 17, 2026, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event will sell 150 passports; participants who visit eight designated locations will receive a stamp at each stop, collect key-chain charms and be eligible for prize drawings.
Committee members discussed recruiting community groups to staff the eight locations and considered logistics for passport printing and contest costs. Minutes record that Lauren Santagate was asked to get pricing on printing the passports (including a note referencing Middleton jail as a possible printing source). Kira was assigned to reach out to local sports groups to participate; Amanda Schell will look into contest costs for the Sept. 26 event and related activities.
The Passport event is part of the committee’s 150th-anniversary programming and will be coordinated alongside the Sept. 26 Block Party and other planned events. Committee members will report back at the next meeting on June 29 with updates on printing, volunteer commitments and staffing for the eight passport locations.
