Parks Board sets bid schedule for sports court; expects MSD comments and contractor recommendation in January

Chris Buck told the board that MSD is expected to provide comments to the project documentation the week of Nov. 3. The schedule calls for issuing the bid on Nov. 13, holding a non-mandatory pre-bid meeting on Nov. 20, setting the deadline for bidder questions and substitutions for Dec. 4, issuing a final addendum and substitution approvals on Dec. 9, and opening bids on Dec. 16. Buck noted the five-week bid period accounts for the Thanksgiving holiday and said a contractor recommendation will be presented to the Board of Aldermen on Jan. 13.
Buck said the Park Board will hold a December meeting specifically to discuss the project and the contractor recommendation. No formal procurement action was taken at the Oct. 15 meeting; the board recorded the schedule and next steps.
