Shrewsbury sets bid schedule for Sports Court and MSD project; contractor recommendation due Jan. 13

At the Oct. 15, 2025 Shrewsbury Parks Board meeting, Chris Buck outlined the procurement schedule for the Sports Court and MSD project and said staff expect comments from MSD the week of Nov. 3.
Key dates presented to the board include issuing the project for bid on Nov. 13, a non-mandatory pre-bid meeting at the courts on Nov. 20, a deadline of Dec. 4 for bidder questions and substitutions, issuance of a final addendum and substitution approvals on Dec. 9, and a bid opening on Dec. 16. Buck said a five-week bid period accounts for the Thanksgiving holiday. The staff intends to bring a contractor recommendation to the Board of Aldermen on Jan. 13.
Buck said the board will hold a December Park Board meeting to discuss the project before final procurement steps. The minutes show a timetable and next procedural steps but do not include draft contract amounts, selected bidders or a final funding decision.
Board members did not record a formal vote on the schedule in the minutes; staff will proceed with the timeline and return with a contractor recommendation in January.
