Town of Holland committee recommends local vendor for town-hall A/V upgrade

The Town of Holland Parks and Property Committee voted Friday to recommend that the Town Board accept a proposal from Nerds in Plaid to add a wireless microphone and a large-screen television to the community room at Holland Town Hall for an amount not to exceed $3,700. Committee Member Kelly Caswell made the motion, and Chairman Doug Hamilton seconded; the motion passed unanimously.
The committee considered two written proposals: one from ABC Audio Video, LLC of Oconomowoc and one from Nerds in Plaid of Cedar Grove. Members said their evaluation focused on the quality of the proposed equipment, the geographic proximity of the vendor—important for future service and support of both the A/V equipment and the town’s internal IT needs—and the proposed price. The recommendation forwards Nerds in Plaid’s proposal to the Town Board for final approval.
Earlier in the meeting the committee adopted its agenda after a procedural motion by Caswell, seconded by Hamilton, and Chairman Hamilton certified the meeting had been properly noticed the day before. The committee also noted that bags of household garbage have been left at the historical marker on Sauk Trail and that the location is being monitored; no formal action was taken on that item during the meeting.
The Town Board will consider the committee’s recommendation at a future meeting. Minutes were signed and filed by Doug Hamilton, Parks and Property Chairman.
