Council unanimously approves city manager employment contract for Brian Rager

HR director Laura Gomez reported the results of the recruitment process and said the city, with consultant Rothman, identified three finalists and subsequently selected Brian Rager. Gomez said the process included in‑person interviews, staff and community meet‑and‑greets and three panels (leadership, council and unions). She asked the council to approve the appointment agreement negotiated for the selected candidate.
Councilor Schlack moved to approve the city manager employment contract for Brian Rager; Councilor Shaw seconded. The mayor called for a vote and the motion passed by unanimous voice vote of council members present. Rager thanked the council and staff and said he would do his best in the role.
No amendments or alternatives were proposed during the floor motion; the contract motion was adopted and the council moved on to adjournment.
