Plan Commission backs Bossler minor land division, temporary accessory‑structure exception

The Town of Holland Plan Commission on April 7 recommended that the Town Board approve a minor land division creating 3.00‑acre and 20.45‑acre parcels for Andrew and Alison Bossler and granted a temporary special exception to allow an accessory structure on the smaller parcel prior to construction of a dwelling.
The motion, made by Plan Commission member Brody Stapel and seconded by Jack Stokdyk, was approved by roll call with four votes in favor and one abstention. Commissioner Craig Droppers abstained; Bryan Kaiser and Chair David Huenink voted yes.
The commission’s recommendation is contingent on receipt of a signed, recordable certified survey map that matches the draft submitted with the application; approval by the Holland Town Board and the Village of Oostburg; recording and execution by Sheboygan County; and completion of a town agreement to temporarily allow the accessory structure on the 3.00‑acre parcel.
Chair David Huenink said the special exception would be temporary and tied to the conditions listed by the commission. The commission noted that a conditional use permit (CUP) would be required before a dwelling could be constructed on the parcel in the future.
The commission’s action moves the Bossler request to the Holland Town Board for final consideration. No members of the public spoke during the hearing on the Bossler request.
The Plan Commission adjourned at 10:33 p.m.
