'That’s My Brick' fundraiser: 57 bricks paid, installation set for after July 4

Pamela Thompson updated the Darien Beautification Commission on the 'That’s My Brick' fundraising project at the June 10 meeting.

Thompson reported that 57 bricks are paid for and nine orders remain pending; she said there is about a week left to add orders. She will determine insurance and mason costs required for installation. Because installation is now scheduled after July 4, the commission plans a small celebration and to invite donors and businesses who purchased bricks. Thompson noted that donations are tax‑deductible and that the Darien Beautification Commission itself purchased a brick; she also said one of three benches for the project was purchased by her and another bench remains for sale.

Members agreed to follow up on pending orders and on logistics for installation. Danielle Seitz said she has set up an Instagram account for the commission using the Beautification Gmail (the town .gov account did not work for this purpose) and that she will document access instructions and post on request. The commission also noted two open member spots and that Danielle has a candidate referral.

Next steps: Pam will confirm costs and schedule the mason and insurance; officers will send donor invitations for a post‑installation celebration and finalize any remaining brick orders.
