At its July 6 meeting, the Lindon City Council approved routine business items and scheduled next steps on a proposed sewer-treatment fee.
Minutes and consent: The council approved the June 15, 2026 minutes and adopted the consent agenda, which included an interlocal agreement with Orem for third-party building inspection services as a backup and the appointment of Dan Severinsen to the Linden City Tree Board. Council members discussed how the backup inspections would operate, whether the agreement creates any guaranteed capacity and how fee adjustments would be handled; staff said the agreement is a voluntary backup when Orem has capacity, mirrors state procurement language, and allows annual fee reviews with notice.
Sewer-treatment fee: City staff outlined a likely sewer-treatment fee tied to Orem’s required treatment-plant upgrades, describing the fee as a pass-through rather than a discretionary local tax. The administrator estimated the fee at about $16–$20 per month and proposed a staff presentation and public-notice process for the Aug. 17 council meeting so the public can comment before implementation.
Other business: Public Works reported progress on 200 South paving and that well-house bids are due in mid-July with a future recommendation to council. The council also moved to enter a closed session to discuss potential purchase or sale of real property under Utah code and approved the motion by roll call.
