The Woodbine City Council reappointed Louise Mitchell as mayor pro tem and formalized several oaths of office at its regular meeting Jan. 6, 2025.
Mayor Kizzie Knight called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. and, after the Pledge of Allegiance and an invocation by Councilor Louise Mitchell, C.C. Higginbotham asked Mitchell if she would continue in the position of mayor pro tem for another one‑year term. Mitchell agreed and the council appointed her to the post.
Mayor Knight then administered oaths of office to Robert C. Sweatt as Municipal Court Judge, Louise Mitchell as mayor pro tem, Marissa Pacheco as city clerk and city registrar, and Ernest Hamilton as city marshall. The minutes record that each oath was signed individually and that signatures appear on the meeting record.
The council’s minutes show no objections or debate on the appointments. The meeting minutes were later attested by Mayor Kizzie Knight and City Administrator Samantha Young.
