Minner said she met with Johnny Caraway of the National Park Service to discuss two projects at Elk Landing: finishing the master bedroom and servant’s quarters in the Hollingsworth House and repairing stone masonry in the Stone House. "There are two ongoing projects with the site including finishing the master bedroom and servant’s quarters in the Hollingsworth House as well as repairing stone masonry work in the Stone House," Minner said.
Minner also relayed a request concerning animal waste on alliance property and suggested exploring fencing or other preventative measures to reduce the problem. The commission did not record a formal motion on that matter at the meeting; it was presented as an item in old/new business for follow-up by staff.
The updates tie into preservation efforts for Elk Landing, a local historic site. Staff or commission members who want more detail or project timelines would likely address them at a future meeting or through staff reports.
