Biology teacher Erin Fritsch asked trustees for permission to move forward with planning a student‑funded international trip to Italy and Greece for summer 2027. She described planned visits to the Roman Forum, the Acropolis, Vatican City and other historic sites and framed the trip as an academic and cultural learning opportunity.
"This experience would allow students to immerse themselves in the foundations of Western civilization," Fritsch said, adding the trip would build independence and global awareness. A trustee moved to approve the request and another seconded; the clerk recorded affirmative votes and the motion carried.
The board approved planning and fundraising for the self‑funded trip; organizers will return with final itineraries, cost estimates and required permissions.
