Buffalo City council adopts NIMS resolution, approves licenses and July 4 permits

The Buffalo City Common Council on June 9 adopted Resolution 2025‑01 to formally adopt the National Incident Management System (NIMS). City Clerk Jenny Ehlenfeldt moved the resolution and Councilmember George Fuller seconded; the motion carried unanimously.
After routine business the council approved a slate of operator’s licenses for River Ratz, B & S Express, Lost Pirate and other applicants on a motion by George Fuller and second by Larry Johansen; the motion passed with unanimous votes recorded.
The council then voted to grant several liquor licenses and a cigarette license following a motion by Larry Johansen and second by Jeannie Czaplewski. The council approved a Class B Temporary Beer License for VFW Post 10406 for July 4, 2025 at Buffalo City Park (motion by Jeannie Czaplewski, second by Larry Johansen) and a fireworks permit for the Community Action Committee for a July 4 display with liability insurance through Platte River Displays, Inc. (motion by George Fuller, second by Larry Johansen). All motions recorded in the minutes passed unanimously.
Councilmember Fuller moved, and Councilmember Johansen seconded, payment of bills; that motion carried. The meeting adjourned on a Johansen/Fuller motion recorded as carried unanimously. The minutes do not record dissenting votes; Kim Beseler was recorded as absent.
No additional conditions, special restrictions or contingencies on the approved licenses or permits were noted in the minutes.
