The Brodhead Common Council on Jan. 20 approved retaining Officer O’Malley Lomax as a part-time police officer at $25 per hour after Lomax accepted a full-time school-liaison job elsewhere but offered to remain part time.
Police Chief Raupp also received authorization to advertise and recruit for a full-time officer position. Raupp reported ongoing capital-improvement work at the police department, including ceiling-tile replacement and HVAC work; flooring is planned for a subsequent year. He said contractors and vendors were coordinating orders and installations and that some equipment (meter socket/antenna) was pending delivery.
Alder Gritzmaker and others asked for status updates on the generator and equipment; Raupp said he had no new issues beyond pending orders and contractor timelines.
